Bath Schoolboy Recreates Vanguard Bath’s Landmark in LEGO

Untitled Design 3000x2000 19

At Vanguard Self Storage Bath, the team is lucky to see something truly inspiring hanging above them in the atrium every day – the iconic de Havilland Vampire jet. But recently, it inspired something even more special.

Nine-year-old Ted Cooper from Bath captured hearts when he came in store with his incredible LEGO recreation of the Vampire jet that takes pride of place inside the Bath facility. What began as a moment of fascination for Ted turned into a creative project that shows just how powerful imagination can be.

From the very first time he saw the aircraft, Ted was completely captivated. According to his dad, Ted was so enchanted that he insists the family drive past the building whenever they go out.

“From the very first time Ted saw the Vampire, he was amazed,” said Ted’s Dad, Dan Cooper. “He was so inspired that he decided to build one from his box of random LEGO bricks. When he finished, he was so proud that he asked me to send photos to Vanguard so they could see it. You can imagine how excited he was when the team invited him in for a closer look.”

When Ted visited Vanguard Self Storage Bath, he proudly showed his LEGO model to the team and was photographed in front of the real aircraft. Inspired by seeing it up close, he went straight back home and set to work improving his model – even adding a miniature version of the reception area to recreate his visit in detail.

Stories like Ted’s are exactly what make being part of a community so special. We’re proud that our landmark Vampire jet has sparked such creativity, and we can’t wait to see what Ted builds next.
