Vanguard 2025: A Year of Growth, Innovation, and Community Impact

Untitled Design 3000x2000 17

As we look back on 2025, it’s clear that this has been one of Vanguard Self Storage’s most significant years to date. From opening new facilities to supporting community projects across the country, the past twelve months were defined by progress, purpose, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

A Landmark Year for New Facilities

There were several major developments across the Vanguard portfolio in 20205, with some of our most ambitious projects brought to life.

The opening of the Bath facility was one of the year’s standout achievements. The building has already become a striking addition to the city, not least because of the meticulously restored Vampire T11 aircraft suspended within the reception space. This unusual display has drawn interest from customers, aviation enthusiasts, and the wider community alike.

Elsewhere, we expanded our footprint in Central London with enhancements to our Soho branch, including upgraded security features and increased floorspace designed with long-term customer needs in mind.

We also announced the upcoming Maidenhead branch, which will become Vanguard’s tenth location. Scheduled to open early 2026, the new facility will transform 50,000 sq ft of former office space into purpose-built storage.

Making a Difference in Our Communities

While new locations were a powerhouse this year, we also dedicated effort and time to giving back. Across the company, teams took part in a range of charitable and community initiatives, with some key contributions including:

  • Providing storage support for The King’s Trust Ultimate Designer Sale
  • Raising more than £8,000 through the annual Bath charity cycle event
  • Sponsoring a child’s heart surgery through Chain of Hope
  • Donating to the National Spitfire Project
  • Supporting the Felix Project to promote food bank contributions across London
  • Offering free Christmas storage to the CAMHS children’s charity
  • Hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning and cake sale at Lowry Mill

These initiatives highlight what matters to us: supporting the communities we serve and using our resources to make a meaningful difference.

Celebrating Engineering and Aviation Heritage

Honouring British heritage has remained a distinctive part of Vanguard’s identity. Throughout 2025, we continued to showcase and preserve iconic aircraft and engineering history.

The public display of our replica Spitfire on the roof of our West London branch marked moments such as VE Day and the Battle of Britain anniversary. This particular piece gave visitors and passers-by the chance to engage with pieces of Britain’s aviation story.
