Vanguard Self Storage has marked a major milestone in its 60-year history with a grand open evening at its newest branch in Bath. The celebration brought together friends, family, customers, local residents, businesses, and members of the dedicated team that helped bring the new site to life.

After more than a decade of searching, planning, and persistence, the opening of the purpose-built, 45,000-square-foot facility represents a significant achievement for Vanguard.

The event featured speeches from special guests, including Rennie Schafer, CEO of the Self-Storage Association, and RAF pilot and author Air Marshal G.A. ‘Black’ Robertson. Robertson spoke passionately about the courage and determination required to break boundaries -whether in aviation or business- which resonated deeply with attendees.

Councillor Michelle O’Doherty, Mayor of Bath, officially opened the site with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Following the formalities, guests enjoyed canapés and champagne while exploring the state-of-the-art facility. The tours showcased Vanguard’s cutting-edge storage technology, modern design, and sustainable building features.

The two standout features captured much of the evening's attention - the restored de Havilland Vampire WZ450 jet, suspended in the atrium, and the legendary de Havilland Goblin turbojet engine, which sits below.

The opening of the Bath facility marks an exciting new chapter for Vanguard Self Storage, reflecting continued growth and dedication to delivering exceptional service and innovative storage solutions.

Now open, the team is ready to welcome and serve both residential and commercial customers from the Bath community.
