Vanguard Storage Bristol is just a 15-minute car journey away from the University of Bristol, making it simple to store and collect your personal belongings.

By car

Head north-east on St Michael’s Park towards St Michaels Hill before turning right at the 1st cross street onto St Michaels Hill. Continue straight, before taking a left onto Upper Maudlin St/B4051. You will then arrive at St James Barton Roundabout where you should take the second exit onto Bond St/A4044, you will see the Hampton by Hilton on the left as you exit. Continue to follow Newfoundland St/A4032 before using the right 2 lanes to take a slight right onto Houlton Street and Wade Street. In around 0.1 mi turn left onto Lawford’s Gate/A420 where you will pass The Crown Tavern pub on the left.

In around 30ft take a slight right on Trinity Rd/A420 and follow the road before taking a final left onto Clarence Road. Continue to follow the A420 until you reach the roundabout where you should take the 2nd exit onto Lawrence Hill/A420. Follow the A420, you will pass the Lawrence Hill post office on your right and in around 0.3 mi you will see Vanguard Self Storage located on the right on Church Road.

By car

We’re located just under 20 minutes from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and we’re easily accessible by car or train.

Head west from the UWE Bristol campus and turn left, in around 50ft turn left towards Stoke Lane. You will pass Mallard house campus on the left and then take a right onto Stoke Lane where you should continue for around a mile before turning right onto Frenchay Park Road/B4058, continue to follow the first roundabout straight onto Park Road. As you arrive at the second roundabout, you will see Eastville Park to your left, take the second exit straight over onto Stapleton Road/B4058, continue for about 0.6 mi before taking a right onto Stapleton Road/A4320. Continue to follow the road, you will pass Easton Day & Night Chemist on your right, you should then take a slight left onto Easton Way/A4320. Once you reach the Lawrence Hill roundabout, take the first exit to continue onto Lawrence Hill/A420. Continue to follow the A420 where you will pass Lawrence Hill Train station on the left, and in around 175 yards you will see Vanguard Self Storage located on the right on Church Road.

Very helpful people! I met a couple of the guys on moving day when I was very stressed, tearful even, and the two people who helped me were really kind. They went above and beyond. It was so helpful after all the stress. They made sure my stuff got to my unit fine, helped with trolleys etc. I definitely recommend them and I'll be telling friends who need a self storage to go to them. The free 'man and van' service was particularly helpful and saved a lot of money.Thanks so much, guys :)

Wanted to show my son - who is in the RAF - the English Electric Lightning suspended from the ceiling at Vanguard Bristol. Not sure if we could go in - it's the reception area of the company - so was gawping through the window but was beckoned in by the staff. Not only is it a spectacular sight to behold but there are information boards and I was given an excellent and entertaining talk by the Branch Manager - Lucky. I have paid to see exhibits not nearly as well presented and curated as this one. A brilliant way to spend an hour!

After the recent ATC Strikes taken place and having had my Flight cancelled i found myself having an extra full day in Bristol. Being a aviation enthusiast i found this place that has a mint condition English Electric Preserved from there main hall ceiling. They have a lot of history on the wall of this aircraft and even the Ejection seat on show. The staff Lee and Paul were very inviting and friendly, i even got to go to there Viewing Area where you get a good look from above. Well worth the walk out from the city centre, i feel that 5 stars isn’t enough to describe my experience at this place. Thanks guys for the friendly invite and also preserving this nice Aircraft. Good Job

I stored with Vanguard Bristol for over a year and I was actually sad to move out! Anil, Paul and Lucky were so welcoming and really understand that moving and storing items can be stressful. They always have a smile and a listening ear to take all of the hassle out of it. From initially taking my booking to advising on the best option when I needed to downsize - the staff at Vanguard are wonderful. I may still pop in to say hello!In terms of facilities, the place is spotless, the trolleys all work perfectly and because the place is new as designed as a storage facility the corridors and lifts are all wide enough. They have various sizes of trolleys also.But the staff make this place. Top guys.Don’t hesitate to store your stuff here!

Very friendly service, giving helpful advice on suitable choices best for your needs- even if you’re renting the smallest of spaces. Clear information on pricing and 24 hours reservation of space whilst you make your decisions. The storage space is kept immaculately clean, it’s also right next to a train station and on a regular bus stop route. It also has a small van service for first time use of a storage space.Edit: feel guilty about not mentioning names seeing other reviews, but I agree Paul and Lucky were great. Paul was the one who helped me and couldn’t have been better at his job. Feel that vanguard has a decent management and people are happy to work there,

I had a very positive experience at Vanguard Self Storage from beginning to end. This was due to the extremely friendly and helpful staff in particular Lucky and Paul. I would recommend this storage facility to any of my friends and family in the Bristol area plus the small van removal service is an added bonus (first trip to storage free when within local area). I don't think this kind of first class service would be found at the larger companies.

My friend and I needed storage on extremely short notice and they were so incredibly helpful. I have used 2 storage units with Vanguard and both times were great and easy experiences. I met Lee and Lucky the first time when I was on 3 hours sleep and in a terrible mood but I left with a big smile on my face. I met all of them the second time (Paul, Lucky, Lee and Anil) and they were all so lovely and funny; they are a very friendly and kind group of people, and we all bonded on our love of Buzz Light Year which of course made the whole experience a lot more interesting. Paul and Lee both provided excellent customer service and a high level of professionalism. They assisted me with my storage needs and made me feel welcome on various trips to the storage unit. The units were clean, there were plenty of trolleys to load stuff on and with two loading bays I never had to wait long to load my vehicle.

The building is very clean and secure with easy access from Lawrence Hill area. Honestly, don't know what I would do without these guys! I had a unit at Vanguard for approx 18 months. I’ve used other big name storage companies in the past and this place is by far the best. It’s immaculately clean, all the staff go out of their way to help you and it never feels like they are trying to pressure you into taking a unit or paying more than you need to. The price is also around the same as I was paying elsewhere which really surprised me as it’s infinitely better than the competition. Big shout out to Paul who was in charge of my section, he made the process of moving units super smooth and was mega helpful.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The guys here are so helpful, genuinely friendly and welcoming. It is actually quite comical how ridiculously good my experience was at Vanguard storage. Storing furniture in-between house-moves is not a process I particularly associated with requiring unrivalled customer service - but that's what I got here! I was in a bit of a hurry and Paul adapted to make it as seamless and straight forward as possible. He was kind (and funny!) and he went ludicrously above and beyond to help us arrange the right size unit, in a timely fashion. He guided us to the unit and made himself totally available if we needed anything while we unloaded the stuff. When I returned 6 weeks later to remove my items, he remembered me by name and gave me a hugely warm welcome. It literally feels like a b&b rather than a storage facility! Haha! I cannot recommend it enough. It's also open till 7pm which is handy if you work until 5/6 like myself and still need to run over after work. Really good prices, and they refund any time you don't use without question. If you need to store stuff in the Bristol area - look no further, and I hope Paul is on shift when you get there.

We researched a few different storage companies and Vanguard were very competitive, but that isn't the only reason we went ahead with vanguard, Paul who works in customer service was fantastic help and answered any questions we had promptly and professionally, we signed up remotely and when we came to visit today with all of our stuff to move in we were pleasantly surprised with the building and storage unit itself. It doesn't feel like a storage unit, very clean and very spacious. Lee on reception greeted us and was very helpful and Lucky the branch manager was great as well. All the staff are professional and friendly. Highly recommend vanguard for those looking for storage space!

I’ve used quite a few storage places in the last months. This place is the best by far. Paul and Lee were super friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. Great value for money and the place is super nice too, almost like a smart hotel (automatic doors that open as you get nearby!) crossed with a high tech office, and an amazing reception hall with a real RAF Jet airplane dangling from the roof above you. The kids love this place. What more could you want?
