A Piece of History

1.5 tonnes of metal, ornate cast iron columns and a cast eagle overlooking your every move. George Clymer would not settle for less when creating his famous Columbian. He dreamed of a memorable machine, something that would be remembered long after he was gone. The Columbian is not just any machinery, it is a stunning piece of printing art enriched with details; the sheer power it represents tells you where the name “press” comes from.

Right beside the Columbian, there is another machine, sophisticated for its age. Would you think that it was only fifty years ago when they have used linotypes (line-o`-type) to print your daily newspaper?

Want to see a piece of print history, a Linotype 78 or a 160 years old Columbian Iron Press? Where else but Vanguard!
